Shocks and struts

So its time. I've got my tax return and I'm going to buy shocks and struts. I allready have eibach springs I'm going to be putting in. I want the best shocks. I'm thinking tokico illumina's, but I've heard that they don't last very long. I was also thinking about KYB yellow's or bilstein struts that ISC racing sells. I know bilsteins are amazing, but the ones they use are sprint car struts. Does anyone have any experiance with them? Will they be too much strut for the eibach springs?

Talk to Jim at Gforce. And get his suspension tuning guide for the first gen. It will save you ALOT of trouble in the long run!

I'm not going to spend $75 on a book that tells me to buy his parts. I know peeps who've bought it and it says buy their stuff. Have you ever read the book?

Look into the koni adjustables for your car. They are number two in my book.
They are cheaper than the illuminas but perform well over time. If money is a little looser, then look into the ground control coilover set up with bilstein adjustables. If you go to the ground control site, you can find more information.

if youre serious about your car's handling get the book its well worth the money, there is a lot to fix in the geometry of the suspension no matter what shocks or springs you get youre still going to slide...

Exactly!

and as i said before...he is not just writing a book to push his products. only two places he mentions to use his producs as they are superior and within the rules of SCCA racing where as the other ones are not.

this is the pan hard bar of his (it has alot more area to mount to the subframe than isc), and the turn in spacers becuas his turn in spacers meet almost all the racing classes rules where as other ones out do not.

there are also charts with spring combinations, and tons of do it yourself things you can do to improve handeling!

does anyone know how stiff tokico blues are n compairison to illuminas. I've heard from unreliable sorces that they are about a 4 setting on the illuminas. I also heard that about GR2's and those shitty things are softer than stock.

does bilstein really make adjustable shocks for our cars? I've been into these for quite a while and that's the first time I have heard bilsteins mentioned for a first gen.

I have the Illuminas, with Eibachs, bushings and sway bars, pretty stiff and flat handling.

The only thing I don't like about the Illuminas, is you have to remove the interior wheel cover to adjust them, they adjust from the top. 4 settings on the front, forget how many are on the back.

well someone mentioned adjustable bilsteins, but noone else has ever heard of them. www.iscracing.net does sell bilstein struts, but they're not adjustable. It really seems that noone has a direct compairison to what else there is out there...
