shifter
installed the new shifter boot and finally got pics. Black with maroon stitching, as I'd asked Bill to make it. I'm impressed with the quality of his workmanship and how easy it was to put in (some carpet tape to hold in the base over the broken stock cheapo pegs)

EDIT: See the bodycolored (black) power window switch surround? Thanks RotorLynn It looks great!

Bill's the god who makes 'em. I'm just his distributor.
Here are the colors offered:
vinyl:
Black, Mariner Blue, White, Saddle Tan, Red, Forest Green.
Stitching:
Black, White, Red, Blue, Maroon, Orange.
I'm working on coding to let you select colour options via radio boxes, but for now you just hafta order 'em & email your preferences.

Anytime baby!
Looks great but I have a brown interior and I am interested in a brown one with brown stitching to match the interior. I e-mailed Bill and I think he may still be searching for the proper color....any update on this?

finding vinyl that's a good match is tricky, hence the black shifter with maroon stitching for the maroon interiors.
You sure you don't want a black shifter with brown or tan stitching? Might look good in your brown interior...

I sourced out other vinyl for maroon that I thought looked like a match for my GS interior and it looked cartoonishly bright when installed.
The cool thing is black goes with anything, which is why most stock shifter boots are black.

If you can find a close match that might actually look great. You may want to consider either black or tan stitching though - the slight contrast looks great up close, though it's almost invisible from a distance.
One idea I had is a sort of TT inspired "baseball stitching", though I think that looks better if the seats also have it.

I was VERY impressed. I ordered Bill's product to see it for myself before offering it on his behalf through my site. It's rugged but good looking and very easy to install.
Incidentally the only thing I offer on my site and didn't actually buy or create is the engine rebuilds, as I don't need one yet. The only reason I feel comfy offering them is the shop doing the rebuilds has a solid reputation and history with rotaries AND includes the installation kit.

How about we get a silver or grey color to at least match the stock color of the surround....
I have the maroon interior, but absolutely no black inside the car.. It's all red/silver

Only stuff that turned stick was over the shifter boot. Everything else has withstood the heat, constant use, and even shoes of my friends (who for some reason feel its ok to put their feet on the dash... WTF!??!)
Even the shifter **** that i painted is still hodling up for the most part.
I got the paint at Napa, the napa brand stuff. Mebbe give that a try? Mines been on for a few months, near no wear on it.

Marhyde is the interior color paint of choice. I've had it on my interior for a couple of years now with no problems. Looks like factory. Just take a part to match the color with you, and you can get a great match. I can't remember what color I used, but since they didn't have Mazda '84 interior colors, I used the closest domestic color. Again, looks great.

Mantis - Just took a look at your site. Damn I love that aluminum radio surround. How many are left? If only I didn't spend so very long modifying my dash to fit my Sony MD headunit. I too painted the surround black and it looks so much better (a much more modern look).
BTW - I pulled a black leather shiftboot out of a junked Integra and used a bent coathanger to make a loop/fastener under the shifter interior piece. Looks great and is VERY affordable.
