The shift buzzer we all love, a few questions installing it to another car.
Since my first FB is now a parts car, i'm wanting to take the shift buzzer from it and wire it to another car, no real point, i just miss hearing that buzz at redline. Where is this unit located? What activates it to sound, is it triggered at a certain voltage, or is there something that sends a signal to it at a certain RPM? Basically, what would i need for it to work with another car?
Another way i could see doing this is through the Check Engine Light (CEL), my ECU has capability of throwing a CEL for a shift light at a certain RPM, what about wiring the unit to the CEL bulb, would that work?

I've read since posting this that there's a circuitry panel for it and an adjustable screw to set when it's alarmed, so that clears up what activates the sound, now i'm curious where the sound comes from.

I actually want to put a bunch of foam around it so I don't hear it...I assume you're talking about the little goldish box on the top of the cluster?
Can anyone add to this....bringing up some old history here...
