Talking She's ALIVE!

Well, since I broke the OMP I poured some MMO down the tank...then shook her from the rear bumber....I then put the key in and VROOOOOOM!!! turned right on! I thought it would take a little longer being that I had the fuel lines off and all...but no...she turned right on...

Immediately I saw a huge amount of white smoke from the exhaust (normal for a car sitting for a few weeks) that disipated quickly...then I noticed the enginebay smoking...I watched the temp gauge closely and slowly the smoke went away...

Problem I had before the cleanup was surging idle...its now gone...and it idles much much smoother...i guess it was a vacuum leak

Eitherway, I just had her idleing there for a while till she warmed up...reved her a couple times to check the actuators...seems like everything ('cept the OMP) is working fine...

What tests should I do to make sure everything is okay? Besides a spirited drive ofcourse...

I did notice that although its idling correctly and everything seems fine I still hear a small hiss coming from the enginebay...maybe the PS pump? dunno...

Once I take more pix I'm going to finalize my cleanup project site and post it...

alternator bearing or water pump bearing. maybe a tiny vaccume leak.

check for proper fuel pressure if you have the means. change the fuel filter. make sure the fuel has a good path to flow.

k...so the TPS was way way waaaaay off and when the car went up to between 1000 and 1500 rpm it would start to miss or something...just up and down real quick...but at idle it was just right...

i rigged up a tps test light and turned the tps screw LOTS till one light was on and the other off...

now i bring up and up and up slowly and the missing is gone ...idle is perfect ...i'm so so happy that its idling and working as it should be...

wierd though cuz i still hear the little hissing but i can't find where its coming from...

is it possible to have good idle with a vacuum leak? thats why i think it might be the ps pump... or something else...
