She lives... kinda.

Well, after a couple months of winter, we actually had a nice enough day to get the 7 started... It only took four new plugs, a new distributor cap and rotor, and a healthy squirt of starter fluid, and she actually ran... like ****. Hopefully, we're going to be moving to a new house with a large garage and a barn, so the FB and FC will actually be in places where I can work on them... I thought I would have to wait until April to get the FB going.

In the meantime, I ran the FB for about 10 minutes today, and it's smoking like a bastard. I'm going to pull the 13B out of the FC and have it rebuilt and streetported to go into the FB, so I'm not really concerned, but I was kinda hoping that the FB would run well enough that I could drive it around a bit... That is, unfortunately, not the case.

I was also going to yank the leather seats out of my GTUs, clean them up and re-dye them to go into the FB, but after closer inspection of them, they just aren't nice enough, so I guess my plan of using Miata seats is back on.

That's pretty much it for now... It's supposed to be back in the 30s and snowing next week after 4 days of temps in the mid 50s, so after a mid-winter thaw, I'm boned again.

I have seen many 12a engines that smoked badly when they were first started after sitting for a while. Most of them cleared up after running for an hour or two. Don't lose hope on the engine yet, it may actually live a lot longer than you might think.

You're taking apart a GTUs? That's sad. They're the best or the 2nd gens.

Um, no it's not, but thanks.

Yeah, I'm taking apart the GTUs. It's getting an LS1 and T56 swap, and both of them are getting the Miata seats.

You do what you want with your own car, of course, but I'd engine swap a more common model than the GTUs. They're pretty rare from what I understand.

I'm also converting it to RHD.

I bought it for $500, the engine is shot, and I want it to be unique.

It's a GTUs, it already is unique.
