So yesterday i'm leaving the parking lot where my local bank is. As i'm going around towards the nearest exist back onto the main street, there is a lady in an SUV (forgot what kind) as I pull around. So I stop about 10 feet or so behind her and wait for her to do something. After a few seconds, she puts her car in reverse, and for some really idiotic reason decides to almost floor it right at me. Now during the time it happened so fast even honking at her would do nothing, she was reversing that quickly. So, the ending result, she hits me. First thing that goes through my head is, "Did this B*TCH just really do that?" I was furious.. so here are some pics:









So basically after we figure out the repair costs, i'm thinking that i'm actually going to order the mariah racing airdam or the mode four one. then having the car repainted. After looking at the post a pic of your 1st gen section, white or black seems to look really clean. So yea, i'll be sure to post a pic of how everything looks after being fixed within the next few weeks.

Oh to continue what happened, so she and her boyfriend get out of the car and he's like, "Oh man bro i'm so sorry she didn't even see you!" Wow, really now. Isn't that why they invited side and rear view mirrors?? I didn't even bother getting into the fact of why she reversed so far and so quickly, all I made sure to do was get her insurance and drivers license info so I can get my FB looking back to the way it was, beautiful.

At least it was the front of the car not the back. rear 1/4 damage is the worst.
You should've gotten a police report if you didnt, that way her insurance company has to argue with the police, not just you.

If you didn't get the police involved, be prepared to pay out of your pocket for the expenses of the repairs.
All she has to do is say she didn't do it and the insurance will listen to her.

I didn't get the police involved, but I did have a camera with me at the scene so I did take pictures of everything before we moved her car. Also, there were 2 witnesses that whose names and numbers I got just in case, but her insurance company already contacted me and is going to send an estimator out monday to take pictures of the damage so i'm not worried about it.

hahaha.. you dont know how many people have told me to put on a CF hood.. I like the color as well, but after looking at some of those black and white FB's.. they just look so great. Can't decide :/

that sucks, sorry to hear about your car. had a similar instance of driving through a parking lot in my s4 and some lady backed up into my cars quarter panel without looking.

I feel your pain, here's what happened to me a few weeks ago out on the highway:

Not a wench this time, but a couple of good old boy tow truck operators with a severely overloaded big rig that threw a 10 foot long, 40 pound retread out on the highway for us drivers to kick around. I talked to the fellows, they were supreme ********, thought it was good entertainment while they waited on the side of the road for another tow truck to come help them with the big rig that lost the tire and the other tow truck that was on top of the big rig with the bare *** tire.

So any way I had to eat the damage, my temporary solution was to take the nose piece out and do a little back yard body work, about an hour after work one day:







Not perfect but OK for now until I can find some replacement parts. You can see the tire tread in the last picture, that would be the tire tread owned by Seymour's Wrecking Service of Commerce, Georgia. They certainly named their company correctly. As Mr Seymour explained it to me, road debris is "an Act of God".

So at least your wench has some decency and at least you are being treated with some fairness. If it had been my tow truck boys it might have been another story.

damn, sorry to hear about that man. well i'm still waiting to see whats gonna happen.. hopefully this gets taken care of the right way. i'd be very disappointed if it doesn't.

yea.. she has mercury insurance just like me. and i already verified that she put in a claim, so i'm not too worried. only problem is.. after talking to my mechanic and some other people, they are telling me that the insurance company will just tell me the car is total'd and give me the amount of money that its worth.. which probably isnt much, instead of paying for however much it would cost to repair and paint everything. but thats some bull **** and i'm not gonna let that fly. i'll be sure to post an update when i know how much i'm getting from the insurance company.

ive went through this all before, i kid about 18 pulled out and i hit him, damaged the front right quarter headlight and bumper and they totaled it. the kid then said it wasnt his fault so then the insurance company listened to him and i had to fax reports and all sorts of ****. ended up after 6 months of bitching and moaning taking 75% of my cars value.

well thats just some f*cked up ****. i think i'll be okay, the person that hit me and her boyfriend both knew it was her fault, and she already took the time to file a claim and admit that she messed up, so i'm not worried. i'm just curious to see what happens with the money situation for the repairs.

When it's clearly not your fault like in this case the other person's insurance company should be pretty cooperative, afterall, for them this claim isn't that much, the adjustor is probably costing them more than you will. Insist on getting it repaired and paid for in full, make the argument that the car is not easily replaced beause it is a 20+ year old classic sports car and that you have a lot invested in it (money, labor and love).

Worked for me, when my 84 GSL got hit in the rear end a couple years ago, they wanted to total it to the blue book price and give me 75%. I sent photos and a letter, talked with the trucker's insurance company and got everything I asked for (about twice the $2,200, with a one week car rental included). I did the body work myself, bought another GSL and still had $2000 to put in the bank.

Good luck, at least she admits it was her fault.

Funny thing is I had a similar thing happen to me, but in my case I was behind a car at a frigg'n red light and the woman in front of me suddenly throws it in reverse. AT A RED LIGHT!!! I think she realized she really wanted the left-turn lane. Douche bag. So I'm not in my 7, I'm in my 91 Chevy Caprice wagon... didn't get too much damage, so I let the biotch walk. But later I was thinking, if the cops did come out how could I prove it wasn't me that rear-ended her? I mean who throws it in reverse at a red light?

crappy drivers... it's why I never street a motorcycle...

hahah. true that. might have been hard to prove without having her admit to it or having any witnesses, but thats how it goes unfortunately. even in my case, there were 2 people sitting in a car watching when the whole thing happened, so I had a witness regardless.

I can only imagine how you feel. I have an 85 SE and here in San Antonio everyone has an SUV or truck. They don't look and constantly just swerve or drift into my lane. I was an aggressive driver in Germany, but now I am totally agressive so I can anticipate their idiotic move and counter it with the speed and agility which my car has. Hope everything works out ok for you.

yea no kidding.. los angeles is even worse. everyone is always in a rush or just a bunch of idiot drivers.. being aggressive is probably the smartest thing you can do now a days when it comes to driving. thanks though, i'm gonna find out tomorrow how much i'm gonna get for the repairs if anything so we'll see what happens.

My FB was backed in to not log ago. shortly after that the diff broke. so i to the insurance money and get a rearend from someone on the forum and the front piece. that is about all i have done to it because it need some other repairs that I used the insurance money for. I know how it feels though. It sucks ***.

The insurance company paid out about 1400 for it. So far i have been hit twice in the FB, once in the rear by a 250 ford and the one where the SUV decided to back up on me. I think that the next upgrade that i do to the car will be an air horn from an 18 wheeler. next time somehting like that happens .. i want them to **** there paints.
