The Shame
So I went for a drive tonight and my windshield wipers malfunctioned. Being in Seattle this is just about the most serious breakdown you can have. So I pull into the nearest gas station and up comes a guy in a 2005 Lotus Elise! So here I am in a gas station next to a Lotus and *I'm* the one whose windshield wipers won't work!
Roflmao
Oh Man sorry, its just so few people would understand what you are talking about, but several of my friends have cars that are from england, (MB's Lotus, and a couple of original triumphs) that i fully understand the whole concept of PITA wiring issues.
cheers and better luck.

Hahhahaha, I know. The irony of it all!!
I had a British built Peugeot a few years back. I bought it new and no end of electrical problems with it. Rear wiper, thermofans, stereo, airbags......
They don't call Lucas the God of Darkness for nothing, hahahahhaha.

irony, yes, lol. however, dont forget that you still drive an RX-7. remember that for a minute. there isn't any other car in the world like it and its your pride and joy(at leasy my 7's are) and you should be proud of it. did you figure out the problem with the wipers?
Lucas, Lord of Darkness. Brittish cars don't use electricity, all those black things that look like wires are really little tubes used to pipe the smoke around. Did I ever tell you about the time my 78 MG started smoking and I couldn't get the battery cable unhooked because it is almost impossible to get to that compartment behind the seats? And that's just one of the MG smoke stories I've got. I'll take my 7 anyday.

Lucas is the master at creating smoke leaks................
I had my wipers go out on me years ago while driving my '83 Datsun 310. It was nothing but a linkage that popped apart, but totally prevented me from driving my car, which really pissed me off.
Ever since then, I have been an avid user of RainX. That way, the wipers are strictly optional...

Yeah the wipers just needed to be lubricated. The car's from Florida so it's probably been rained on more this week than the whole rest of its life. They seized up. Well if I am going to have a motor seize I will take a wiper motor. No big deal.
BTW, If you add orange rain-x to half a wiper fluid tank of the cheap blue stuff, the resulting color of the fluid will be "exorcist puke green" or split pea green if you prefer.
So these days my coolant is reddish orange (the new stuff plus water wetter) and the washer fluid is green. It would appear to the average person that I don't know where my fluids go. Hmmm, the new brake fluid will be purple.

Priceless......
Yeh Rain-X will get you through those wiper problems, great stuff, reminds me I need to put some on next car wash.
But Mazdaverx713b, I usually put my Rain-X on the OUTSIDE of the car. What are you and your wife doing inside your car all year around that requires so much Rain-X to get excellent results?

If going with the DOT 5, it's best to start off with new calipers and brake master, along with a full flush/fill of the entire system. As far as the RP, never tried it. The DOT 5 does need to be bleed more oftern because it's not hydroscopic.
you finally stumped me Scott, WTF does hydroscopic mean?????

" The DOT 5 does need to be bleed more oftern because it's not hydroscopic."
Indeed, it is true that DOT5 fluid is not hydroscopic. But then neither is anything else unless you are taking photos of it underwater with a hydroscope.
However, most brake fluids, except DOT5, are hygroscopic, which means they tend to absorb water from the atmosphere, thereby lowering their boiling point and causing corrosion of some brake system components. It is the DOT 3 and 4 fluids that need to be replaced periodically.
