Service

My Series 2 RX-7 went in for a service today and I asked a few questions wich I got some strange answers to. My tail lights are really cloudy and the drivers side one is cracked. I asked how much to replace them and they said AUS $400! This seems a little much to me!! I was expecting more like $20. Also I have just done a couple of driving courses and have found that the rear brakes (disks) lock up under heavy breaking. I asked about this and they said that this was normal for a series 2 and the only way to fix this is to replace the brakes. What do you guys think of this?

Thanks Guys

$400 sounds about right for good secondhand tail lights.

Is the Victoria British Catalog online or do you have to order it? That is about $300 Aus. By the time you ship it is around the same. Wow that is expensive

Depends on the condition of your calipers and sliders. Sometimes you can get away with cleaning and lubing the sliders, cutting the rotors and installing new pads. However installing all new brakes on a 17+ year old car is not such a bad idea. Just my .02

I doubt that they'd fix those taillights. That would probably take more time to do than just replacing the broken one with a new taillight. That's probably why they're charging you so much.
