Seliniods/Relay/Thingy

What do the two seliniods/relay/thingys on the drives side engine bay do?
They are between the strut tower and the firewall and they have metal housings.
One has two connectors the other has one connector.
Thanks,
Vin
ps. I unplugged the "one connector" thingy and everything seems fine.

I admit...

Admittedly not the most interesting question, but it can't be the hardest question either. I believe they are the "main relays", whatever that is.

manual

I did see a figure in one of the manuals that looked about right, but all it said was "main relays". The figure was labeled "emission control diagram".

I don't think it's a "main relay"...I don't think there is such a thing. What year is it? I'm too tired to look it up, but I'm thinking one of them is for the cold start assist system.

Cool

It's a 1980 SA. I hope they are both stuff like the cold start assist- stuff I through away.

Pictures:)

So does anyone know what they are?
I'm hoping they are all not needed now that my A/C, rats nest, and Nikki are gone.
I'm also hoping that the black ones are relays so I can relay up my head lights and other stuff.
Thanks,
Vin
Ops, my pictures are to big!

I don't believe that they are needed anymore. I'm not sure if they will serve for your headlight modification (which I highly recommend, by the way), but relays are pretty cheap if you find the right ones. They sell a kit specifically for this at www.danielsternlighting.com
