Seeing the light
ProCarParts carries a Euro replacement headlight that will let me use Xenon instead of **** yellow stock, so I can see upcoming deer and potentially lethal moose (meese?) sooner.
Great. But they won't accept Canadian credit cards.
Does anyone know a Canadian supplier for these?

I read your email
Those lamps should help but it ain't xenon. It's "fake" xenon with a stupid blue tint. Real xenon requires an HID system which cost big bucks. If ya got a cool grand hanging around HID is what you really want.

If our headlights fit any on this list, http://www.rallylights.com/search.asp
I would upgrade with those. I got them for my Miata and wow. What size is our headlight anyway?

FB headlamps are 7" sealed halogen.
Same Visa/Mastercards but through Canadian banks and ProCarParts say they can't verify the cardholder info (even though every other online merchant can), and they'll only ship to the cardholder address.
I'm not going to be at my LA address for weeks so this is a pain in the butt. If I got 'em sent there, then forwarded, the shipping would be more than the product.
Thanks for the tip on the blue tint though - I had thought they had to be xenon to use the xenon logo (like Compact Disc or MiniDV)
I sent Daniel an email about 'em - I'll keep you guys posted in case you want to make similar upgrades.

yes. I've emailed BadAss repeatedly but with no response. All the others I've seen are cheapo, leaky units.
Ideally a 4 beam sleepy kit with projection lamps would do it, or even 4 fixed projection lamps like those available for the FD.

I could, but experience with suppliers in general tells me they'll do some song & dance about needing 21 days to clear an out-of-country money order (nevermind that Canada/US banks recognise each other's money orders, etc. - they just wanna hang on to cash AND product for as long as possible).
Anyone here using BadAss' kit? Izzit any good? Most are leaky cheapies.

thanks for the ebay tip, but those use the crummy blue tinted bulbs that (a) give off lousy light and (b) get you pulled over by the police

I love the look, I love the light, and it was a simple bolt on install.
From Jose Reye's site
The light it emits is very white, Non-Blinding, and has High and Low beams. The little "blue bulbs" are optional, and I didn't connect them, as the car has Pop-up headlights, so they would never be seen.
I highly recommend them.

H4 conversions? I don't remember. I know they are 55w(or was it 60w) bulbs, and the whole thing was a 20 Minute bolt on replacement for the stock lights. Jose Reyes (the red car in the pic) told me you could put in 100w bulbs if you upgrade some wiring. Although, the bulbs that came are EASILY 2x as bright as stock, in all the right ways. ZERO glare.
They were also DOT certified in case you are worried about tickets. The difference was NIGHT and DAY.

So were they the Bosch kit? Looks like you've found what I need, but as I said the supplier's site doesn't offer much info. Their 1-888 number isn't in service either.

I was considerably upset, thinking I had just been taken for an idiot, but the package arrived the next day via UPS ground, so they did ship it previously.
Good product, they just need better communication with the buyers.
Jeremy - I paid like $45 with shipping, etc.

I sent Daniel Stern an email asking if he stocked this kit. After a loooooong lecture from him about what an idiot I am to want to replace a Halogen bulb with an HID one he stated I should get a kit - the very thing I asked for - without telling me if he stocked them or not.
Seems customer service sucks from several sources.
So, anyhow, IS is the Bosch kit??

Well since you confirmed the 1st gens are 7" round, I would highly recommend the Hella or Cibie E-Codes (check mark cutoff pattern) with Philips Premium Bulbs in a 80/110 watt. Total price for the E-Code lights and standard philips or hella 80/110 watt bulbs is right about $70.

Just found the Bosch kit at a store in town. It still gives off Halogen yellow light but the lenses are much clearer and even in daylight they're brighter (turned them on with one installed/one stock for comparison)
