Seat sizes

Are there different sizes for 1st gen seats?....the pair in there now I am confident dont belong....the passenger seat is held on w/ bolts they drilled through the floor....the driver's side WAS held on by the two bolts on the left, but when I pulled int out to clean, I tried to reinstall it using all four bolts, but the rails are too wide for the holes in the bumps on the floor...and I can't even push it far enough to the right to get it to bolt back the way the had it! Do any of you have pics of STOCK seats?

Nope, only one size seats (as far as mounting goes) in Gen 1 although there are several STYLES of seat, and I think the Gen 2's will match up too. What your describing is some nightmarish adaptation... holes in the FLOOR? Crikey!! All you original mounting points will be there, but, man, get those floor holes plugged up

rx8 seats don't just bolt in, but they aren't that far off either lol... as for having a hard time lining it up, try sliding the chair forward and back until they line up, it might be that the rails are out of alignment because of the spot the chair is at... i've had success with this... and the front left bolt on the passenger seat is literally in the floorboard/transmission tunnel...

Those seats look like they are from some old American car. They don't look like RX-7 seats at all.

Try getting some nice TII seats. They are (almost, you have to change one rail) bolt in, and much better than the original seats!

i put in some aftermarket seats. All i had to do was use some steel to widen the mounting brackets base. Pretty easy install
