I know there are lots of "my seat belts dont lock" threads that most do but I'm wondering if anyone has upgraded the seat belts to something modern, specifically with child lock (pull all the way out and lock on retract) on the passenger side?
Seat belts are one of those things that people don't usually mess with simply for safety reasons. Heck you usually can't even buy seatbelts from parts stores and that's for a reason.
Regarding the child lock, I believe all belts 81 and beyond have this feature, although I could be mistaken. I know that in 81 they did introduce the "fast pull" locking feature, but the "full pull and ratchet" mechanism I'm not certain on.
Personally I wouldn't mess with the belts unless perhaps you have an SA and want to upgrade to the FB belts - SA belts only lock on aggressive accel/decel and will not lock when pulled quickly. The two systems have different colored plastic caps in my experience; SAs using blue ratchet caps and FBs using white. The FBs also have an additional cap (two total) to accommodate the extra ratchet mechanism compared to SAs.
Here's a photo of each. Couldn't find a great photo of my SA ones but you can still see what I'm talking about.

Try contacting seat belt planet to see if they can help you out with this. Unfortunately they couldn't do much to help the auto-retractable shoulder belts on the S5 models but they might be able to do the SA & FB chassis. I know its comparing apples to oranges, but I did just do this for my wife's NA Miata I'll get you a picture when I get a chance.
