SE running problems.

ok...some problems are intermittant others arent.

when idling, or recovering from a rev..the car will idle at 400 or less rpm..then slowly pick itself back up. i tried smacking the IAC and this seems to help it out. does it sound like the culprit?

also..i had to fully retard the timing to get it to idle without a lope.

problem #2...when it's under full throttle in a gear it act like its seriously starving for gas...ie: "reeeeeeeeeeEEEEEE...............*pop* REEEE *buck*" let off

i already replaced the spark plugs/cap rotor , fuel filter, fresh oil.

another thing...the previous owner removed the cats. so..nothing to open those 5th/6th ports. so i tried freeing them up..one was ok, the other stuck. so i smacked on it and got it moving..however im sure i knocked a big *** chunk of carbon into the motor. keep getting powder flying out the exhaust lol car still makes 100psi on both rotors

6 ports... Well, is this a 13b we are dealing with or a carbureted 12a...
and if theres a big chunk of carbon in there i dont know if seafoaming the engine would help

IF it is a carbureted 12a, then do an ATF treatment
start the car, and poor a half a cup of automatic transmission fluid into each each barrel while revving it. poor a quarter of a cup of atf into the secondarys... that would free up any carbon around the apex, corner, and side seals, and burn it off... you have to keep it revved or it iwlll shut off. . . burn it off until car can idle normally

Well I do not know a lot but Kevin Lander did it to mine after he rebuilt it .....
the people who did my front end alignment flooded the car. My car is a GSLSE.

have you adjusted the tps yet? make a little tester and see where it's at, being off will cause the lope, and the low idle, the funky running. all sorts of thing. your computer is basically guessing where the throttle plates are.
Also your going to have to remove the LIM to get those ports working properly.
You can either get the back pressure tube from someone to get those ports working properly aftewards, but most likely your cats are shot by now, or possibly gutted like mine were!! You could also use the airpump to activate them, i've got them working real swell now.

here;s the site for idle problems, http://members.ij.net/mrmazda/gslseidle.html also sounds like your BAC valve, that compensates for idle. sits on the side of the throttle body with like a 1"black tube going to it. take off the thick tube, the vacuum line on the bottom, the black electrical plug, and the 2? nuts that hold it in. bump it off with a mallet if it's stuck. then clean it out with like wd-40 or something sutible and make sure the plunger inside gives you resistance when you push it in, and springs back. all of this is on that site with more detail.
