As far as I can recall, for the US the only options were color, leather, and power steering, everything else was standard

I've got an 87 SE and it's all original except for the aftemarket sunroof.

std tranny
PB, 4-wheel disc
15" bologna slicers
cloth interior
a/c
those funky black things in front of the rear tires and under the front air dam.
regular stereo (no eq, no cd)
aluminum hood

There was either a post or a website listed on here awhile ago that had all the different models and what they came with standard.

sunroof was standard on 84-85 GSL's & GSL-SE's (at least in Canada)

other than that Leather & AC only other options mentioned inthe '84 brochure. I know PS was an option but i've never seen one that had it. (i know there are some on here that do)

"ps standard?" -option in U.S., not available in Canada.

If you haven't seen it, you might be interested in a scan of the sales brochure here:

options

they were: leather, power steering, illuminated exterior door locks, but I still don't know why some cars come with two roof (glass and hard) and some did not. I have never seen the "glass" as an "option".. and another question...I have seen "plexi-glass" sunroofs??? Where the heck did they come from?? J.C. Whitney??...cause I have one!!! I would rather have the "glass" and am looking for a mint one...cjf

cjf,
I think a company called Pacific used to make plexi roofs.

Be ready to grab your ankles if you want a glass moonroof

the '84 brochure i have is the same as the one in the link above, except for the last page (i'll scan it later if you want, have to go to work in 10 min so no time now)

it offers the tinted sunroof as part of the 'Mazda Dealer Accessories'

it says :
Tinted Sunroof: Designed to replace your factory sunroof this stylistic roof gives you 31% more window space. Hand crafted from solar bronze unbreakable material. Install it yourself in minutes with no tools.
doesn't sound like glass to me (and my sunroof is plexi also)
