SE idles at 5000 RPM.. suggestions?

This is a car with an 2ed gen engine in it. The original blew an oil line and siezed. Here is what we have tried and possibly limited it down to. First off:

EGR is gone, and the airpump is removed. Other than that everything is still on the engine.

The butterflies are not stuck open, they are completely closed.

It sounds like the studder valve us out (like it sounds on my Gsl) but im not sure on how to disable it on an fuel injected car. ***anyone know**

When we disconnected the BAC, electrically, nothing happened. When we unplug the hose and block it, the rpms drop to about 1.5k.

My friend kyle has been beating his head into the wall for the last 5 weeks trying to get it running...(Injectors weren't grounded, thus wouldn't fire). And we are happy it runs, but we want to get it running right. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Billy

Did you try the idle adjustment screw ontop of the throttle body?

My only input is that I remember on my friend's 89' GXL that he used to have had that same problem, and it turned out to be a bad Mass Air Flow Meter.

I owuld look carefully for vacuum leaks and then try the idle screw on the TB.

Then check you MAF.

Goodluck. Keep us appraised.

Let me know if you need to know how to check for vacuum leaks, TPS voltage, or MAF tests.

MAF is kinda what i am leaning towards, but as far as testing goes, i don't know how to go about it. We have messed with the tps, idle screws, ect... to no avail. I think its a sensor problem.
