Scraping sound from engine

When I went out to start my 7 today, the engine made a scraping sound and died almost immediately. I'm assuming that I blew a seal (and just got it out of the shop too) but figured I would check here in case it was something else and I was about to tear my engine apart for no reason. Thanks for any help.

same sort of noise, but happens when I crank the engine, will sit at ~2500 rpm for a few seconds with choke out, then dies

Check your compression first before tearing into an engine that doesn't have many available parts...

Know the signs, 1 strong puff per 3 and its an apex seal at minimum. 2 strong puffs and its a side seal.

What'd you have your car in for service?

also what have you done lately? Seafoam?
