Score!!!!

I am buying a 1980 Rx7 with a S4 13b, '86 rear end, custom wheels and (rare racing tires), and a ton of other mods. Can you say $800!!!

The guy said he has got over $2500 into it. I forgot what all the rest of the stuff is.

What are all the componets to swapping the 86 rear end into an SA? He said he had custom brake lines made and that i need a master cylinder. Sounds legit?

Uh, '86 rear end? FCs had IRS. You would need a whole custom subframe and all sorts of fab work. I think he meant GSL(-SE) disc brake and limited-slip rear end, which, yes, would require a matching master cylinder (not sure if GSL and GSL-SE use the same one).

That is what i thought. It must be a GSL-SE rear end.

Well, you'll know by the lug pattern. 4x110 = GSL and 4x114.3 = GSL-SE. If it's GSL-SE, he probably would have done the front suspension swap, too. Otherwise the front and rear lug patterns won't match.

The GSL lug pattern is the same as the SA. Still wont match the rear. You need -SE front strut assemblies/hubs/brakes.

Yeah, a GSL front suspension swap won't do anything for you unless it's from an S3 and you want to do the ReSpeed brake conversion.

By rear end, he may be referring to the differential, keeping the 1st gen axle.

Even then, the SA's have the small rear axles and the FC's have the large ones.

I dunno. This seems fishy. I won't believe what it has until I see pics.

I have to look at it in person. I dont think it is an 86 rear end (pumpkin, axles, brakes, ect). But it is a custom one!

I Know he said it was a disk brake conversion and a posi and it needed a new master cylinder for the brakes.

He said it has been in a climate controlled storage unit for the last 8 years. The guy he bought it from had it under a tree. It collected tree SAP all over it. That is what the faded stuff is. He took part of it off the passengers side windshield.

He has had it in his back yard for a week.
