I get varied opinions, my blower scoop hood will be painted and ready next week. Do you prefer the aggressive look with the scoop (it is functional as a CAI for the carb'ed camden) or the stock look (loss of performance due to the warm engine bay)? BTW, scoop pic is before the new paint.

Same; the blower is awesome, but non-functional scoops have always struck me as aerodynamically questionable.

I'm a stock fan, but that blower install makes me drool.

The sleeper look is badass, however, a mid 80's RX7 doesn't neccesarily yell fast car... People may think that the scoop is fake considering that it's offset instead of centered as if it where a pistoned engine. When people think that your scoop is fake, and then you blow the doors off them? awesome. Then again, who cares what it looks like. Function>form.

The scoop always make other drivers do the whiplash double take, where the stock look attracts much less attention. When I decide to twin charge and intercool it nest year, it will definitely be stock in appearance as the scoop would no longer be functional.

Your scoop is one of the few I've always liked. I also love how it's off centered and probably makes people think you don't know what you're doing, and thus makes it so much cooler that you're making great power!

Yeah I remember those pics. It was your feedback at the time that drove me to the camden, I had such big hopes back then.......hopefully the twincharge concept with realize them.

Damn, that car is sexy! And, ©ØÐËߣüË's old supercharger setup is also wicked as Hell. I've never seen a setup like that.

Go with the scoop! It's unique and unlike most have seen.

By the way, does anyone wanna be a spokesman for the supercharged rotaries? They always make me drool, and sound awesome, but I rarely hear talk of them. What type of power are they putting down? For the price, would you recommend it, or would you just recommend going turbo? Seems the supercharged guys are always quiet and never seem to rave about their camdens.

That is because when we do it always turns into a debate. Soooo, I'll keep it simple! Supercharger=great daily driver, very responsive, instant boost, wonderful midrange, simple install, simple tuning, great torque, no standalone needed, sounds "real" cool, looks real cool with the functional scoop, unique, durable...."however", max recorded rwhp is 210, and don't even dream beyond that. Turbo=more complicated, but done right with the exact same engine can provide 300+ rwhp easily. Purchasing dollar for dollar about the same expense "depending on talent." Turbo is not just a bolt on affair, and benefits from a standalone or proper guidance for a carb arrangement from someone like Robert at Rotaryshack. In my opinion, for a daily driver combined with limited self tuning skills (either with fabricating a blow through set up or wiring/programming a standalone) go with supercharger, if you have the talent and resources and want to win at the drags, gotta go turbo. I probably have the most experience of all on the forum with the camden.

Not to start a debate or anything, but I noticed that most supercharger set-ups are Carb'd would you increase your numbers by going FI?

Well I can't really get into the whole supercharger thing.
But I will say I really liked the supercharger's that I had in the past.
Loved the sounds and the performance they put out.

The numbers weren't what I really wanted.

The first one put out about 150 HP. And was really fun to drive, and we raced the **** out of that car. even went though a few motors. This is with the 5" blower


The second setup was the EFI. Looked killer, sounded bad ***. But only put out about 250 HP. I did have some heat issues with is, but got worked out tuning the mircotech. The 7" blower

Ok then had some words with Atkins. Don't make me go there.....

Anyways, I have a turbo now and it's the best.

I like the look of the scoop -- offset and all. Since it's a muscle car thang -- I think your car would look better butched up a little. An OEM FB is a sleek looking car, but with the SC, you need more of a muscular look. Montana Kid's car was butch enough to pull it off right. I'm thinking wheel flares, a chin spoiler, and a flat rear spoiler (NASCAR-style).

+1 for the scoop. Forget about being a sleeper at that point but that is sexy!!
