Great support from Atkins today. Andy rec'd my gear today, machined it for the collet clamp and Kathy already got UPS to pick it up. All in the same day!

I call it a design fault. Although the charger isn't usually run to the limits I push it so this likely hasn't been discovered by many.

This design issue has been corrected, my charger is 4 years old. Andy at Atkins constantly strives to improve the product with little impact to cost. This fault has been replaced with a much more durable collet clamp. If I had used the charger in the way it was intended this issue would have never surfaced. I use it on a bridgeport and spin the charger itself to approx 10,000+ rpm, I over-drive it to produce up to 15 psi (designed to max 10 psi), I feed it with an 800 cfm double pumper to sustain boost to engine rpm's of 8000+, I spray methanol to cool the charge and I race the car. I am sure on my old streetport with my edelbrock 650 and 9psi I could have run it as a daily driver for years and years without an issue......

ok now you making me feel it would be a good idea again. my car is a sa and street driven summer car. i dont want to race it ect. thats what my turbo capri will be for.

i was up in the air about a super charge put on my motor when i rebuild it this winter vs a TII swap. TII swap would mean alot more work but less money unless i rebuild it which would be the smart thing to do. but id rather go with the less work way ie super charge the 12a. do you think ill wind up blowing my rear end or tranny with the super charger?

less work = mo money.

Depending on how you thrash your car, it will hold up fine.

Nope, I had a friend beat the hell out of a stock tranny and rear end for over 4 years with the camden. Talk to (PM) Yetterben, he just went from a backwoods home built (no offense) 12a turbos set up to a camden on the same engine.

And he even kept the stock heavy flywheel. A real trooper.

Heh HEh HEEEEEHHHHH, I said "no offense". I actually intended that as a compliment. Anyone can buy something out of the box, put it on and follow instructions. You had to be creative, resourceful, seek assistance from others and do most of the work and fabrication yourself. To that, I say good job. BTW, you're not in the big city are you.......Ben with his buddies http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cw5mPEG2Izs lol

Eau claire is the biggest drinking college town out side of Madison itself. Which has earned number on school for partying and in medical research! :P

Well she's back on the road again. Installed a new collet clamp for one rotor and 2 new rotors in the supercharger. Learned how to do a complete teardown and full reassembly with clearancing of all aspects of the rotors. Thanks goes to Andy at Atkins (aka, camden, aka pulleyboys) for his guidance and prompt service. I plan on doing the conservative scoop and will post pics next week after I paint the hood.
