This Saturday!

I will be the proud new owner of an '84 GSL-SE with a pretty lookin' 13B under the hood.

It's got a targa band, louvers and the SE wheels. Red interior with leather seats. All in mint condition. Everything works!

I can't wait. This is going to be quite a car with some work.
I'm gonna polish her up and put all of the money I'm finally making into her to make her a true beast. I hope to have her road worthy within the month and track ready by April. I'm only going to keep it to 1/4 mile and the like. I don't want to take this one drifting. That will be for my junker if I choose to put a motor in it again or if I can find another $300-$500 seven that I can setup to race and drift.

Yea, I'll get pics tomorrow of it.

congrats! how much was it? you should keep it if the body is nice, especially if its a targa, its quite rare, at least here in Canada.

thanks

Well the body is perfect with NO BIN RUST!!!!!

I talked to the guy to work something out. Were looking for $1500 for it since it has sat for about two years. I offered lower and we settled around $1300 but I'm gonna meet him half way and give him $1400 on Saturday. Just a nice gesture. Basically I think the generosity on his part is partially because he knows it's a beautiful car, he knows it deserves a caring home with someone who will pour money into it, he hates to see it sit as I do, he sees I need a new Rex and love them, I also believe he doesn't really have the time or money to do anything with it and needs to make something off of it just sitting there for two years.

Yea... soooooo!!!! WOOOO!!!! I'm so excited. I can't wait to actually own it own it.

Didn't take the camera out today.

Correction on it though, it's got a brown leather interior. For some reason I remembered it being red and last night I couldn't tell when I was starting it up in the dark.

It starts up fine. Blew a lot of vapor looking smoke(assumed mostly water and gunk from sitting for nearly two years). There was a little bit of belt squeal due to sitting as well. Needs some TLC and some sanding in tiny spots to remove surface rust. Other than that the entire body is sound and with preventative maintenance on the rust this car will stay solid for a very long time.

Right now it starts up and will stay running if I give it gas but will putter and die if I let off the gas. Think it's just old gas, set oil, and a need for a good tune-up? I certainly hope so. I want to be able to enjoy this car a little right off the bat before I put major work into it.
