I would give yourself atleast a day. Usually some little thing comes up that causes problems. Is the old engine out?

If it's your first time, I'd give it a weekend to be safe.

ya to give you an idea me and a couple friends pulled one motor and tranny out, another tranny out, a driveshaft, exhaust etc, and then swapped it all into another car in about 3-4 hours. But remember we are automotive service techs and my car is bare essentials...

GSl-SE addict: no the engine isnt out yet which is ok i guess.

mwatson: yes it is my 1st time so i guess that it might be the weekend

dan: i see what your sayin it does help, i am pretty mechanicly inclined and but this will be my first engine removal too so yeah!

zduford: hopfully we will picking up a hoist today for the weekend if not a pully system and hang it from a tree my buddys back is about broke so we wont be doing it a 4x4 and rope.

an update in the engine, well i drove 8 hrs. round trip after work yesterdayfrom ft bragg to ashville and back i turn the engine over by hand and it sounded good and everything so i got it. my sentra is sitting really low in the back right now!! HAHAHA !! it still the wiring harness on the engine so i think that will make things go alil faster! im going to have pull the tranny from it to change my flywheel and clutch over to it. it came with everything AFM all th way to the block its a long lonk and it looks clean. im going to see if carl wants the AFM all the way through to the throttle body so he can run some tests and such what bc i know that he had a few issues on the last one he had bc he didnt know if it was good or not to begin with and if theres anything that you need dan let me know i ll fill you in on what i have left after the swap i know that your lookin for an engine for your widebody!
well thats about it for now.

You will need to pull the LIM and soak the sleeves with carb cleaner. The Ford dealer has a very good on that foams and soaks in. It doesn't evaporate out like the standard off the shelf ones. It may need several applications and soak for a day or, depending on how carboned they are. Work the sleeves gently. When they finally come out, spray more and scrub the sleeves with a Scotch brite pad or steel wool and the ports with a brass brush.

Once eveything is spotless, turn the motor over by hand to push any remaining carbon and cleaner out of the housing. Squirt motor oil in the housings and rotate the engine by hand to recoat the housings.
