Question is this safe?

well it all started 2 weeks ago when i started noticing im leaking antifreeze ..

its probably the hoses..

anyways the mechanic cant fix it until next week..

i lost nearly all my antifreeze.. and i keep adding water to the coolant and the resevoir.. (it loses about 1 bottle of water everyday, and therefore have to keep filling her up for the next day).. theres no more antifreeze at all.. its just water now cooling it..

is it ok if its just 100% water?

or will that most definately wreck my car?

i wont push her too hard.. i just need to drive her to my college and back until next week when the mechanic can fix it..

dya think its safe?

i see the temperature. and its not that high
will it damage the engine in any way?

thanx for the help guys

water + steel + oxygen = rust

anti-freeze = anti-rust

if you have that bad of a leak, then that means when the coolant leaks out, air will be replaced in its place, meaning more oxygen for rust--this is if you do not keep the cooling system full of water. Just get that leak fixed ASAP and don't push her too hard!

Just dont let it overheat! Keep it full as much as possible, and when you get it fixed, have the system flushed and use distilled water and anti freeze.

Yeah, it shouldn't be a problem to run straight water for a couple of days. I might add that antifreeze/coolant raises the boiling temperature of water and also lubricates the water pump bearing.

Yea maybe add a little anti freeze with each "fill up". Like a cup full.

pure A/F is never a good idea. There's a reason they recommend 50/50. Antifreeze on it's own tends to.. well.. Gel up.
