SA tails on -SE?

Do you think something like this (the SA tails and center-section) could be done on an FB?

I think that is an FB. SA's liscense plate went in the gap between tail lights.

That answers two of my questions, then. Anyone know if there's a place that makes that center-piece?

It's a SA with a filler panel as well as the indent filled, possibly by FB metal. But the car is a SA, look at the bumper.

That deffinatly looks like a SA bumper, but they didn't have the license plate there.I agree it is an SA,but they modified that bumper as well.

It's chopped for the plate. You can tell it's a SA bumper by the squarness of it and the black rubber "end caps".

You can put the sa bumper on the fb, use the sa tail lights and thne make your own center panel.
I would love to fine out who built this car as to know if it was a sa to start with as I would love to make my sa look that good in the rear.

I think this is the same car. Here are more pics from the 13 years I have been saving pics.

From what I gather the 79 SA's had unique sunroofs. The 80 SA's had the same sunroof configuration as the FB's.

I have a set of SA tails that will go onto my FB as soon as I get some bodywork skill. And a place to do it... or maybe they will just sit in with the rest of the hoarded parts.

They do look muuuch nicer.

And that car is an SA, judging from the lower valance, the bumper, the dashboard, and the underhood stickers. An '80 to be precise.

Man, peejay
Xray vision must be nice! Wish I could see the dash. ha ha

The little bit of dash I see looks to be a 79-83 dash.
I would say with the amount of body wok the wide body kit took the car could be any year he wanted it to be and could put anything on it he wanted since buy the looks of things he had an awesome body man.
Well if it is truly a 79-80 I want my 79 to look like this in the rear so it will look better than my 85 se.

I concur,the 80 had the big FB style sunroof,right?

That doesnt look like any RX-7 bumper Ive seen though. The 80 bumper was the same as the 79,except the 2 nubs, which were very small and only went down from the centerline. Those things are freakin' push blocks on that bumper! It almost looks like a GLC bumper with SA endcaps......
Maybe a Canada or Jspec thing?

I've found some SA taillight covers, and I've got some busted-lens FB tails laying around. I'm going to try to fit them over part of the FB taillights, and create my own dividers for the different light locations. The unused portion of the taillight I'll likely just cover with some black plastic. After that, I'm going to try to locate something that can be cut-down to fit as a center section.

If all goes well, I'll take pics and post a how-to. Wish me luck!
