TN SA Short Radiator

So, my radiator has started leaking. I bought a KOYO HH063146 knowing it was the tall one. I figured when the time comes I'll relocate the oil cooler forward. Moving it forward as also proved to be a little difficult. While at the time I don't have AC I have all the parts and REALLY want to restore AC. I can't move the OC to the later stock location due to the oil outlets not oriented to go around the sway bar. So I need to move the OC to the top of the crossbar. Which exits into the evaporator bracket. I can fabricate a bracket but I'm still not sure I'll be able to bend the lines down and around the taller radiator. So now, I'm looking for a shorter radiator.

I cannot find one from the usual suspects however, I do see a few offered on ebay from Worley2013 and a couple others. Are these radiators good enough? Anyone have any idea on fitment? Would cutting the tall radiator down be an option? How about an aftermarket Oil cooler? If aftermarket OC, examples?

I'm not above going to beehive if I can get all the parts.

Thank you!

I haven't found any aftermarket oil coolers that have an internal thermostat. A thermostat on the oil system is a must. If your current oil cooler is good, I'd try and make it work. Moving it forward is a must if using the tall rad. I'd make my own oil cooler hoses using -10an hose and fittings. You can get a -10an 45* to overcome the angle required. You'll need a 16mm x -10an and a 18mm x -10an for the engine outlet and return fittings.

i like to use nylon breaded -10an line.

Required Adapter Fittings:
1971-85 engines -
Part No. 11901 (3 required) Engine-to-hose adaptor (-10 to 16mm)

Part No. 11902 (1 required) Engine-to-hose adaptor (-10 to 18mm)

Thanks, but making the lines isn't really the issue outside of expense and AN is expensive. I'm thinking about 16mm x1.5 banjo bolts to -10AN or barb. The banjo will give me the space/angle but I'm not sure if I can find that. Any issue with mounting upside down?

My race car came with a Sirocco style dual pass 2 core radiator. It sat on top of the OE oil cooler so packaging/lines for the oil cooler didn't change.
Sirocco style radiators are short by design and are popular in drag racing because they are small. Check out Summit racing, Jegs, etc. It ended up not being enough radiator for racing but probably more than enough for the street.

As far as relocating the cooler, I mounted mined on top of the round cross member and was able to use 90 degree hose ends at the cooler to go under the sway bar and radiator. Mazdatrix sells the AN adapters. I would NEVER use hose barbs or push lock style fittings on oil cooler hoses. The oil coming out of a rotary is hot, really hot and it will swell rubber hoses and the Aeroquip push lock hoses. Cost me an engine and an easy race win....AN is expensive but worth every penny.
