I'm looking at buying one from a member here. It's a SA rad, and I'd like it in my 84 GS.

Will it fit (easily)?

Buy the oil cooler, lines and pedestal from whoever is selling it you. The SA radiator is shorter than 83 and up as the oil cooler sits below, whereas 83 has tall radiator (long) as it has an oil to water cooler below the oil filter pedestal.

 

But width-wise it whould bolt right in?

 

yeah it will bolt in, its just a shorter radiator and thicker core. i just put one in a friends, and it worked fine.

 

Dont forget to get the lower rad hose as well. Its also shorter and a slightly different bend.


If worse comes to worse, you can cut your other one to fit, its just not as good a fit.
