oil & filter change '85FB

2 quick questions:

1) OK to puit car on 2 ramps, or should I only raise 1 side since lug is not centered.

2) other than puncturing the filter to release oil, is there anything special about the oil cooler/top mounted oil filter thast I need to know before I change the oil?

Thanks -

actually, let the car sit overnight and change it the next morn. the oil will drain from the filter. but to make it faster, u could puncture the top of the filter with a screwdriver. but u could risk a shard of metal getting loose.

I don't put a hole in the filter unless I'm having an impossible time getting it lose the conventional way. Be safe, get the proper tools for loosening it. Though everybody swears by it, I'd rather not take the chance of anything falling into the engine there.

Slightly turn the filter to break the seal, and then drain the oil. Leave the filter for last, when the oil drains out, it sucks the oil from the oil too. Works like a charm.

This is the easiest car to change oil on

I take off the oil cap and loosen the filter.. while the oil is hot.. grab my ratchet.. reach down through the engine bay and drain into a tub.. no jacks, stands.. ramps or anything

Only thing I *might* consider doing is jacking the driver side slightly to get the most oil and debris out of the pan.. but I havent bothered
