SA to FC Wheels with a Spacer.

I have what might be a very stupid question, we will see .

Im doing a project converting an SA to an Renesis engine and want to put bigger brakes on it. To facilitate that FC wheels look like the way to go. I just did a quick measurement of some wheels I have around and the offset of SA wheels is about 4 2/4 and FC wheels are 5 1/2. Would a spacer that's lets say 1 3/4 pull the offsets to about equal so it would look right on the car?

The factory 1979-1883 wheels is 5Jx13 ET20. So ET20 is +20mm offset.

The second gen has 14 and 15" wheels but it looks like the offset is the same. +40mm offset
5.5Jx14 ET40
6Jx15 ET40
