S4 Alternator into FB, what size spacer i need?????

Hey guys, i read on here that the S4 alternator is a direct PNP when swapped into an FB. I have an 83 GSL and just got finished with an attempt to swap it and i see the bronze spacer that goes over the pivot bolt on the FB alternator is much too large to fit with the S4 alternator. What gives? I thought it was a direct PNP, no one ever said anything about a diff size spacer (if they did it wasnt said in the threads i read).

What size spacer is needed to complete the swap? Looks to me not much more than 1/4 inch or so but im not sure if there is an exact figure or specific spacer needed. If so, where do i get it? Will hardware store or HD have it? Thanks fellas

I used the stock spacer. I can't remember if it was from the S4 or from my S2.

A few appropriately sized washers worked for me.

I threw a S4 into my 85, only needed to sand down the stock spacer slightly.

All I did was cut the spacer in half.

The S4 spacer is slightly thicker than needed, belt sander worked for me.
