^More harsh than usual, but still true. Search, before we take away 5 forum bucks.

If you had searched the exact title of this thread, you would have come up with this.

Did the seats cost more than the car?

fb seats are actually quite nice.

you seat low and push forward on the pedals instead of pushing from above... like most minivan shaped cars.

God I love old cars...

sorry "vintage"

Seems easier to post a "newbie" question, withstand the gunfire and then use the links provided by the irritated veteran posters, who do a quick search to show how easy it is.

BTW, what's the best wheel size for a 1st gen?

It's nice, I think, to see that you gents pay attention to my posts. It was not my intention to sound harsh. There was another thread posted more recently than the one that was found and linked that has a better diagram for the bracket to install the RX8 seats. Either that or perhaps it was for a set of aftermarket seats. Btw, thank you for searching and posting the link.

Fwiw, I do try to be diplomatic and not pick on the new members. There are many ways to suggest using the search function without coming right out and saying it. That said, I do get some doozies occasionally, for example, grafitilover.

Pay attention, keep me honest. It benifits me and the posts I make.

I just thought it was funny how you said, "welcome to the search function." I thought it was sarcastic and to the point. And the reason I put up that thread was to demonstrate how his EXACT thread title brought up a good answer when put in the search function.

And I'll keep you honest if you do the same.

I have an ironic sense of humor that is sometimes interpreted as sarcasm, gets me in trouble more often than I like. Keeping things honest is a priority to me, both in self and information. The info part seems to have become my job in some aspects. There are times when I feel like a school teacher or parent, correcting the 'kids'. Either way, posting the correct info, or correcting misinformation makes the forum stronger, adds value to the forum and aids those that do search.

You confirmed the ironic part by simply typing his thread tittle in the search box, instead of the 'new thread' box. Ironic, isn't it? lol.

Mine were $350 via ebay, brand new out of an -8 being stripped to race. 'course it cost an other $500 to get them to Alaska. The guy just HAD to live in Florida
Still not happy with the passenger side install. SA/Fbs have that funky inner rail 2" higher on the tranny side, so by the time i boosted the door side of the seat up the 2" to match it, there is no headroom unless your (a) 5'2" or (b) happy to lean w-a-a-ay back. Needs a re-think, which is why I never posted the mounting of the passenger seat...

cut the inner rail on the car where the SEAT rail goes thru. It worked great on my old Recaros.
