Those look great in a 1st gen. Time to hunt down some RX8 seats... They're pretty comfortable, but I feel the 2nd gen TII seats have more side support through the turns.

Sorry that I have no updates, yet. I currently have the passenger seat placed in the car sitting on top of some thick craft-paper. The passenger side will be abit more of a challenge, but do-able. I should be able to get a footprint / pattern for fabbing up a bottom bracket to match the RX8 seat stud-bolts, then bend / drill holes for the stock 1st gen body mounts. I'll post a pic from behind with the hatch open for another view for clearance issues.
Ultimately, 16 gauge flat sheet metal will probably be used as the final conversion mounting plate.

Here's a shot from passenger side:
Here's a shot from behind:
I'm drawing up a 3D cad model for illustration of the passenger seat mounting plate idea. I'll post when finished. The car isn't my daily driver and I'm abit behind schedule on ALL my projects, atm.

Great Pics thanks....
Did you try using the left side original track only for the passenger seat to accommodate the bump in the floor?

this seemed to be the perfect spot to show off my new seat. I only got 1 in because I wanted (insisted) i use the original mounts without any drilling. Anyway the passenger seat is all done and fully functional.

The 1st gen floor bolt-stud misses the RX8 passenger front-left hole by about an inch; too far away from the hump. It is a perfect width, though, overall. They'll look better than stock once mounted,as they are nicely designed at the side pull seat-back adjustment. I'll get some more pics, today, while it's daylight.

Nice looking seats, guys. I've kept my stock sliders as you all did, too, just in case. Another forum member is fabbing up his stock sliders to work with his RX8 seats. We've been emailing, and hopefully he'll be posting his work here, soon. He explained that he could keep a lower mount height with his mount-mods.
RX8 Seats are very light; just as light as the 2nd gens that I had in there. I haven't weighed, but I'll try to do so before I mount the passenger side.
Btw, the red and black 2nd gen seats are parked in my garage for now (as are the door panels.) The driver's side foam is pretty broken down at the front left corner rail on the seat. They faded abit, too.
Poor lil' rx needs so much attention these days, as it has been abit neglected while my toddler son usually has all my attention.
