RX8 seat in my 1st gen =)

I FINALLY found the perfect seat for my 1st gen project! I had to have the rotary headrest-thing! I have the passenger seat in my garage and, unfortunately it still has the airbag! I'll have to research the dismount trick before I stick it in there.
I have a simple pictorial write up with some engineering notes in regards to mounting the driver's side seat with minimal mods. If I can ever remember our Roadrunner homepage password, I'll try to post more details on my efforts.

How does it sit compared to stock? Higher? Lower?

I'm sure it would probably hold better, and it certainly looks better; so, good job. How much did you cough up for the pair?

Very nice.

I'm till debating between getting those or the corbeau's

http://www.corbeau.com/products/a4/a4.shtml

I can get both set's for about $600, but you just my have leaned me towards the rx8 seats.

Seat height: Good as I am 5'11, and the seat is dropped down to lowest position. Awesome fit within the car and fits me great.
I managed to get the driver's seat from Ebay for $125 +$50 shipping and I picked up the passenger (that has the airbag) for $250. I picked up in Winston Salem. So, got them both for $425; not too bad as they were my top choice for replacement seats.
They are nice quality...and did I mention that they have rotary headrests? lol

That's really sharp!

They probably don't smell funny like my '85 seats either

Well, here are details for the first two fasteners. I'll make an effort to post a section for this project on our soon-to-be homepage when we get a new password. *chuckle* Somehow we lost our password.

Your 5'11", how musch room do you have from your head to the roof? I'm 6'2" so I'm concernd about the height.

Very Nice!!!!!!!!!!!

I should add that I do NOT have a sunroof in my car. The very top of the seat is 2" from the headliner. If I were taller than 6', I may be be concerned per my mounting decision; however, if there's a will there's a way and additional lower bracket mods can be done.
It worked for me, and keeps the headlights from SUVs / monster trucks from shining on the back of my head when they follow too close (that is if I let them follow that close).

In your write-up, you only use 2 bolts? Aren't you concerned about not having the rear bolts in place?

I am having a simple L-shaped bracket fabbed-up for the rear bolts, I'll post details as I proceed. The passenger side looks to be abit different for the mounting holes, too. More on all this as I go.
