Rx7 Progress pictures

It's been along time since I've made any updates.... so here goes!

Here are some pictures of my motor.... I just finished sealing all the joining surfaces and there are a few more little things to do and the motor will be ready for IC piping.

It is a Gsl-se motor with the S4 turbo hopefully it will be on the road this spring.

Visable extra's are:
-Turbo manifold by MPS (using B6T's car, thanks again)
-RB main pulley
-Rotor Alternator pulley
-Aluminum Gsl-SE Water pump pulley made by Universal Tool Machining
-RESpeed oil pedisitile
-Lightened flywheel by CP Racing

The motor is a mazda reman 6-port motor (high compression)
-S4 turbo
-S4 thermostat housing (aluminum) instead of the iron gsl-se housing
-haltech F5 with 1600cc injectors
-locked dizzy
-msd 6a with 3 msd coils
-2.5'' Aluminum IC piping in the works

I'll keep doing updates whenever I can!

What is the story of your car? Obviously your sig reads RIP but here is a photo of the car in your garage. Motor blew?

Either way, nice new motor there. Now, all you need to hear is "Bling bling, motherf***er!"

Thanks guys for the complements....

The story behind the car is just like "3rd and Final 7" put it... Rust and lots of it, I could have patched it up and driven the car for maybe another 2 years but then it would just rot out in another place. In my case the Rear Lower control arm mount rust tore off the car... leaving a huge hole about 10'' diameter. My floors and frame rails were getting pretty bad. I invested in a good paint job so you'd never guess in was so bad underneath!

My motor never blew, actually it was a very reliable car, and since I had a shell that I was waiting to use, I figured now's the time and I'll free up alot of space, putting my spare shell to use!

The new shell will be painted blue exactly like b4, the only changes will be the polishing/turbo/big brakes/body color spoiler. That's how you'll know if you are looking at the old car or the new car.

The new shell started off like this:

Then stripped and placed on a rotiserie just like a piece of chicken on the BBQ:

Then the shell was sandblasted and the wheelwells cut and redone in stainless steel in a slighly thicker guage to incease strenght since the suspension is all around that area...

At this point the car is under going body work and all the suspension is sandblasted/painted ready to be put on when the body is painted blue.

The motor is just about ready, the upper manifolf need to have a fuel rail welded on and I can permantly mount it.

Today I finished the oil pan with the drain for the turbo... I'll try to get more pictures b4 the week is over!

How about some detailed pics of the rotisserie, it's construction and body mounting points. I've thought about building one. Would have made blasting the widebody soooo much easier than laying underneath it.

Don't mean to rag on your work and effort, but please find a more period correct wing for the new one.

Good to see you getting a car back up and on the road. And that engine is bright. I am with Trochoid - I need some sunglasses.
