Rx and the Z

Finally, my cousin has gotten a Z, and now he has to restore it just like me. Here's some pics of it with my 7.

Aren't they cute together? Like brothers. lol
(There should be pictures, if not let me know)

It's always 'cool' when you can hang out with someone who has a sports car not like your own but in the same class.

When I had my first 7 my buddy had a Fiero and then my other buddy also bought a Fiero. We were disappointed in the 2nd Fiero since there was already one in the group...

Hope you guys have a lot of fun with the new toys!

A good friend of mine has a '72 240Z and we AutoX togather. It's good times, unfortunately it's gotten really competitive between us, so now all our money eventually finds it's way into the cars to try and make them faster. That and since he runs in DMod I felt the need to step up there too! I love both the cars, but the styling of the Z is almost nicer.

the 240Z's are classy, the 260Z's are stylin, but they just do not compaire to a nice SA. Im parshal ( i cant spell) to the '79 but it just has a classic, yet very japanese design. The fenders, headlamps, cabin and tail are just so clean and sweeping, your eye just flows along............................................. ..
hu? what?.....no I didnt. Hey I have that keychain.

Here's some pictures of the radically different engines. It's so wiered to see some big long inline engine under the hood after staring a rotary all the time. Other than that, its amazing how similar these two cars are.

The 240Z was about $4000 when it came out, and a pretty impressive sports car, so a friend bought 2. Recently I saw a 240Z parked on the street for sale for $5500. They're pretty nice, and a bit roomier than the 7 (i put on 10 lbs and now my fat butt makes my head hit the roof!), but no rotary! So no sale.

yeah, he bought his for 2500, and i got my SA for 500, plus i got a parts car!! I'd say the condition of the Z and 7 was similar. I dont see why rx7's aren't worth more. I guess their time will come....... someday.

I can tell you why people are scared of the unknown, anyone who hears you have a rotary shuns it and just assumes its a piece of crap... Ive never met someone however who has not liked the rotary engine after they have had owned one. Of course theres the piston lovers that are skeptical of it. I agree though soon i bet the first gens will be a rare find and considered a collectors car.

Nice pics. The Z (240Z specifically) and the SA/FB will always be among my favorite "old school" sports cars.

That's so true. The most common excuse I hear is "they aren't reliable" well hell if you go around punching it everywhere, the weakest point on a twenty year old car will go in a second, same thing with any other older car that hasn’t just rolled off the lot like your civic with its fart can.

I also like when people swear up and down that the reason my car smokes on a cold start is because of the valve cover gasket... They still don't believe my engine has no pistons in it.

Being an RX7 owner makes you…unique; you don’t really see people around ‘tuning’ their Rotary Engine like they tune a piston powered engine. I’ve parked beside 11 second and 12 second cars at the local hangout and every time I sit down on my car I have a group that starts asking me about it (even though mine’s got to be at least a 15/16 second car) completely ignoring the fact that the two cars beside me could whoop my ***.

The RX7 name makes people tremble, they awe at what they don’t understand.
