IT RUNS.. but thats just the beginning

Hello all,
Last night we saw some crazy rains and unfortunately my rx-7 was submerged. I pulled the plugs and spun as much out as I could. Swapped the oil and filter along with coolant. I got the intake all cleaned up and dried out... and now the car starts. This is BIG because I wasn't sure it would run again.
Unfortunately there is a big oil leak around the oil filter pedestal and the car is not drive-able. The oil is pooling around the rear mazda 13b emblem possibly draining from the pedestal or from in between the aluminum and iron rear housings.

My questions are:
1) Has anyone ever experienced an oil leak right after a water flood? What was leaking?

2) I have read the O-rings at the pedestal are known to go bad, is that something water could have pushed out or ruined?

3) Could water have blown the dowel pin seal or any other seal on one of the housings?

Thank you so much for any response or information you may have
