I searched here and looked in the FSM, didn't see the answer. The choke **** always pulls itself all the way in at 1/4 on the temp gauge....anybody know what temperature that spot on the gauge is equal to?

60 degrees celcius, so 140 farenheit

 

Controlled by the specified opening temp on the water temperature switch at the rear of the water pump housing.

 

When I tested mine (back when I had a Nikki) it was 129.8 degrees on a 64 degree day. If i remember correctly (been some time now) but searched and found 2 responses on older rx7 forums, one was 115 degrees engine temp., the other maxed out 155 degrees engine temp. I was told by an rx7 tech from mazda 110-160 to fully close the choke is normal as long as the engine is in proper operating condition.
