dude, i have a cooler, and i remoutned it so no air was hitting it, and it basically almost blew my motor, now think about you with no cooler at all....
Get some F#@*&$^ cooler on it quick or stop driving it.

Nesh, Think about it, all vehicles have oil coolers, it's just the way it is. If Mazda didn't need one when they built the car they wouldn't have put one on. Jeeze
not alot of cars come stock with oil coolers , mazda thinks smart when it comes to their cars . nissan should have thoughten about doing that on their cars cause, the temp of their oil gets really hot when first driving them because the oil pressure cannot build up fast enough.
No offense, but you need to go back to basics a little with your rotary knowledge.
Something like 30% of a rotaries' heat is dissipated through the oil. The rotary generates shitloads of heat and the oil is another avenue to get rid of a lot of it.
Yes, you are crazy to be driving it w/o an oil cooler. Cease and desist immediately. Hopefully it didn't get hot enough anywhere to affect anything in the meantime.

Like someone said oil plays a large part in cooling a rotary. High oil temps will affect the water temps and visa versa. It also increases the changes of damaging the dowel pin o-rings and oil control o-rings. Not to mention it's vital for the rotors as they are cooled internally by the engine oil.
yae that si what i thought cause see if the oil needed to be cooled it whould have one and yes it does
reson why you need cooler a for heat big time secound oil last longer wiht cooler then none cause it will burn the oil to quick but you will see this in your oil
oil will nto go thinner just burn up whe it hits it's temp
other then that is just for coolign and my temp gauge it pretty cold and in way i have even more flow then befor wi8ht out cooler so i don't thik i am doung the damge every one says i am
but tanks for the info
