ruining a battery
it would thickin the viscosity of the mixture. all that battery acid really is, is disstilled water. the water pics up electrons off of the lead in the battery. so if you're battery goes dead, try adding DISSTILELD water, not tap water. or adding viniger helps b/c of it's PH level.
sugar would also probably change the PH level of the mixture. it could also make it so the mixture isn't able to pick electrons off the lead.

You aren't thinking of the old adage that adding sugar to a tank of GASOLINE will ruin it, are you? This is, as far as I know, true. I don't think it's real prevelant anymore, but it used to be a prank. Why in the world would anyone add sugar to a battery? Most batteries are sealed units now anyway.
