3m moulding adhesive or 3m windshield sealant, use masking tape to hold the moulding in place 24hrs.

3M # 8008 (black) is recommended by one door seal manufacturer - I just replaced mine. However, local parts store had only 3M # 8003, which I used. The color of the 8003 is not black - kinda green like contact cement, which it appears to be. It dries very very fast even at 40F.

P.S. The seals went in very easily and doors close much nicer. Had to adjust the door striker too. no road test yet due tension bracket problem...

I'd use 3M PT1100 (pressure sensitive tape). It comes in a variety of widths; but thin (about 9mm wide x 1mm thickness on a 65meter roll)) is probably what I'd use. It holds well enough for OEM trim / sealing; and passes the OEM adhesive strip pull tests. I work in the automotive OEM sealing business. It is common component. We use it in high-volume production, so it's a very fast application.
It takes a cure after it has been applied; making it very effective. Once it takes a set, it can bond so well that it can pull away paint from the sheet metal!
It is easy to put on as it is a double-sided tape. Just be sure to clean the surface, first, and it will hold.

Have you considered not reinstalling, its lighter and gives the car a harder, race look.

If you are repainting, use lacquer thinner and a scotch pad. If saving the paint, use Goo-Gone and and terrycloth.
