Roundies?

Hey guys I'm trying to custom make roundie S5 style taillights on my FB and was just wondering if anyone else has done it or not. I'd like to see some pics if possible. Any tips would be greatly appreciated too. Thanks

i have no input or experience but i must say i really love the tails on the TIIs more than i do the FB's..

i guess get working around with some fiberglass and see where it leads. eventually you'll end up with what you want.

ive never seen the roundies on a FB but compared to most cars i always thought they were sexy...

what about putting a more double roung center behind the stock tails? they are already kind of round, but maybe with some work and masking it could look similar with less work.

guess we'll have to wait and see what happens here, it could get interesting.

My plan was to measure the actually lense, not the ribbed cover, and carefully calculate how big the circles will be and cut them out of window tint. I'll spray paint the tint black so no light can shine through and then apply it to the lense and put the ribbed cover back on. How do you guys think that will work?

el cheapo way would be to buy some vinyl stickers (like vinyl decals) and trace and cut circles and stick them onto your tail lights maybe on the inside if you can. iono what im sayin...

No I'm not trying for the R32 look. The look I'm going for is S5 style where the lights will look stock until they light up. two circles for each brake light(two per brake light) and one circle for each turn signal while leaving the reverse lights stock

It's okay. So do you guys think using some window tint and some spray paint would work? I'm basically just masking the lense the way I want it

There was a write up on this a while back. I'd search if I were you. I belive they used black spray paint and went back a couple of times to make sure the light wouldn't pass through.

Good luck. Hope to see some pics.

It has been done before. You need to remove the lenses and then apply the sticker.

Only problem is eliminating the dumbell look. The reflective piece tends to connect circles.

True, but I think that's a problem that can be fixed easily. Also does anyone know a good way to get the lenses apart and back together? They're held together by what looks like tar
