Just bought an 83 GSL the other day. It will be used as a DD, but in the past few days, I have found alot of really good info here, and now I'm actually considering mking a couple small upgrades to it. Removing the rats nest, upgrading the fuel delivery a bit, possibly doing a CAI type setup, headers, and removing the cats.

It's alot cheaper to work on than my actual project car, a 92 MR2T. I've been enjoying playing around in it a bit (got sideways a bit in it for the first time today). I don't even mind that it doesn't have a radio. It's got ~123k on it, a newer tranny, Eibach and Tockicos, and braided SS brake lines already.

It's not much to look at, but it's very sound mechanically. I'm looking forward to chillin over here a bit when not on the MR2 owners club boards. I know I'll have plenty of questions for you all as I have very little experience with carbs (read: none).

Here are a couple pics:

and what the deuce used to look like, for those that may be interested. It will be much different by mid-june, but this is how I bought it:

Cheers,

It is a huge antenna indeed. I straightened it out a bit and stuffed it downward sins I took those pics, so it's not as bad now. Like I said, it's not much to look at, but it's a whole lotta fun to drive. Mechanically, it seems well cared for, so we'll see how long it takes to blow it up.

It's alot different than the MR2. Really raw and pure. I like that alot. It'll get some love, but I don't intend to go too nuts bringing the body back or anything. I figure some sanding of rust, primering, and a splash of matte or flat black will help it a bit. It's a DD. My MR2 is for taking really good care of. This will be taken care of to the extent of keeping it running, and possibly giving it a wee bit more power, but nothing too extravagant.

Anyways, back to reading up. I kinda wish I could find one in really good shape now....
