Rotors and calipers

Ok yeah a newbie here.......

I was wondering what is the size of the front rotors for an '83. Then also is the caliper a two piston?

The reason I am asking is that I know of a place that I could get a set of front calipers pretty cheap. Granted I own a Ford Probe, I do know that we can put the FD calipers on our cars. (with a modified bracket) I am just trying to figure out if I could modify the '83 calipers on the car.

Thanks

Jason

I know newbies don't usually search but I did and I sure as hell couldn't find anything, so that is why I ask.

I believe they are 9", the problem with our rotors is the hat hangs out over the disk so far there isn't much room for a larger caliper. Obviously it depends on the caliper, but I was looking into 4 piston Wilwoods, and they won't fit due to the additional mass involved with the 2 pistons on the front side. Mounting would have been a snap if it weren't for the size constraints. Hope this helped a little.

the stock calipers are 1 piston. not sure what size rotor, but 9" sounds about right.

Well after looking at it again I am just retarded. It is a single piston. I don't know what I was looking at or thinking.

Thanks for all the help though.

Brembo rotors for our cars? Is it the kind you bolt to the ground down hub or a stock replacement?

Tire rack has Brembo rotors for $59 they are stock replacement, I've heard that Brembo also makes the rotors for Mazda.

another company is Bradi or Brady i forget. the story is that 2 brothers manufactured these excellent rotors, then one day they split up... one brother went Brembo, the other went Brady, both using the same technique.

rumors, rumors.... true?? who knows. possibly
