The simple problem here is business ethics. If you've got any, a car/product will not leave your shop unless everything is done the proper way. This truly isn't just about customer relations, it's about protecting your own ***. Say, in a freak accident, that turbo would cut loose, housing would come off, wreck the car, and kill the driver. In today's world, do you honestly think the family isn't going to try to come back and sue the person who did the supposedly shoddy work? My dad has a business restoring Triumphs and I've picked up a thing or two about how to treat your customers through it. Case in point: we had a couple of rebuilt frames that the rust preventative paint wasn't sticking, peeled off easily, and was basically ineffective. We did the proper thing and got three frames back that were already delivered to customers, sandblasted them and repainted. All without charging a dime to the customers. It's just simple thjinking here, people.. don't screw the world over, and the world won't screw you...

Perhaps I should rephrase that... don't screw your customers over, and the intelligent ones who figure you out won't come try to screw you over... yea.. that sounds better... the other way was just plain false.. everyone knows the world loves to rip us around by the nads every now and again...

Mike you should have sent me the check like you said you would. YOU never emailed ME asking ME for my address. I emailed it to you. None of my emails got rejected or bounced. Stop trying to play that card.

Like I said before, you had my phone number and email address and could have asked me for my address, but I never heard from you.

I'll wait for the check but won't hold my breath.

You have to go to Mazspeed.com and follow the sequence of posts to fully appreciate Mikes point of view on this. There is a series of older posts preceeding this whole business of Robert and his friend coming onto the site that is basically a continual gripe about the poor service of his former business. This follows along with updates of a turbo project that the author has been trying to get going.
...Not relevant to the immediate unresolved situation; But, when others responding to that thread told of bad experiences also (and not one person did come on with a "Pleased Customer" story), it did serve to demonstrate just what opinion the readers were leaning towards regarding the business.

That thread is buried somewhere, and only recently did Robert come on, and ignite this whole thing. Himself. I grabbed my popcorn just like everyone else, and watched the drama unfold.
Meanwhile I was chatting with this new guy, 12a510Turbo.
I thought it was kinda funny how he (this new guy) turned out to be the only happy customer. But hey, whatever...right?
But I was more interested in the fact that Robert had lied to Mike about having anything to do with that business. The plot did'nt thicken, but it looked like either this guy was simply gonna have to fess up and admit he lied, or he was gonna get burnt.
And he knew it!
Then the other admin. finds out that this "510" character is actually on Roberts computer!

I did'nt see the shoddy...alleged shoddy work. I don't know either Robert or Jeff. But I've been a Mazspeed member for a few years, and Mike has never slandered anyone on that site. He's voiced his opinions when appropriate, and all were in agreement with his opinion.
Kathy Atkins came on that site, trying to pitch sythetic oil. But she did'nt say she was Kathy Atkins. And she tried to pitch her company products by saying the ATF treatment did'nt work. That was something that everybody on that site had done, and raved about.
Had she been a better, more sneaky, not so clumsy slimeball of a businesswoman, she would've hung around to see what mechanical level everyone at that site were before spouting off **** she knew nothing about!
But alas...she was just really, really...stupid.
She under estimated everyone there, and thought a bit too highly of herself at the same time.

This does'nt have anything to do with Robert - directly. I mean, it's a whole different story, and I think she's a snake, and Robert just made a really bad choice not to come clean in the beginning. But the Atkins episode was a bad experience all around, and probably helped Mike to be more vigilant of new members with stuff for sale.
Both pissed Mike off (and others like myself, too) because they lied about things, instantly makeing them untrustworthy, they did it for business reasons, and they insulted all of our intellegence.

All this with Robert also coincidently happened when I had just bitched at someone for posting a repetitive thread advertising that he was a Mazda cert, and could do carb rebuilds, and other small things like that.
I bitched because he spammed the board, but also because he did'nt give two ***** about being a member or getting to know anyone there. If he just gave it some time, he would've found that everybody there already does that crap in their sleep.

So the whole mood was sour for different reasons. But nobody likes being decieved - even if it's just about some trivial **** in a conversation. No one likes to be lied to.
Having it be about business seems to magnify the ensuing anger.
And BTW, Mike gave AMPLE opportunity for Robert to do the right thing and not make excuses by lying.

Mike is not some rotary vigilante. He just does'nt like liars.

Hmmm. Remember when I wrote that I don't know Robert or Jeff? Kinda funny...I don't know you two guys, either.
Christ, for all I know, either one of you could be at Roberts computer right now!
-Ya would'nt do that again, would you?

Look, Robert- You lied to your customers...That was so stupid! Written lies for all your potential market to see on the internet.
Yeah, it was just a little lie, but then your friend supported you while for all we know, you were watching him type.
He was on your computer, dude! WTF? How is everyone supposed to see that as anything but deception?
Of course he's gonna say something good...he's yer ****** friend!! Of course yer gonna do a good job on his car...he's yer ****** friend!

You **** on the floor, you stepped in it, and then you tracked in Mikes house.
You just happen to **** him off just right, and now he's like a pitbull.

Robert, look at the views for the Mazspeed posts and this one.
Look at the number. Alot of those are potential customers. Cut it loose, and drop it. The more this drags on, the worse it is for you. It's bad attention, and you can't possibly win this.
The only thing that's going to get you out of this hole is doing great work.

Find someone who does great work.
Chances are, they NEVER tell everyone they do great work.
They don't have to.

Hmmm. Guess I took a while typing.

The one thing I always told Robert is that I will look over Andy's car when he gets it back, and tell others what a great job he did, or vise versa. I still will do that, but I don't like being lied too, like Brad Page at "DRINKABEER@HOTMAIL.COM Sounds pretty responsible doesn't it. Anyways I admit to Brad that I did screw up, and Ill pay that money tonight, but don't sit there and lie to me about the e-mails, and if so, where are they? let's see them.. either way I do owe him, and the check (if you don't have pay pal) is in the mail. Thanks Sterling.. And sorry Brad..

I don't know who I talked to on the phone when I bought my carb, but they were utterly clueless. No wonder they needed a mechanic.

Anyways I'm going to wait to see his car, and then write about it.. Either way I do hope it comes out in great shape..

Can I have a throttle bracket, a throttle arm that actually FITS my throttle cable, the bolts that hold the carb to the manifold, and some air filters that fit worth a ****?

Its only been a year and a half since it was promised to me.

Gee Robert.. funny how things come out of the closet isn't it? And I think he said 1 1/2 years not 4, but nice try again Robert.. Can you even tell the truth or is lying something you were born with? Maybe he's getting involved because he's a mad customer? Oh.. I don't know Felix, but I think he can speak clearly for himself.. Keep it coming everybody (just like robert says)

Really the only big thing is the throttle bracket. The one I had to make is ugly, I've taken care of the rest of the stuff.
