rotary distributor cap 6 point?

Hey I was talking to someone at the BBQ this last Sunday and someone told me something about 6 point turn when right now I have 2 only due to the dual rotors. But that I can change that and make it a 6 point which will turn in 3 point making it a 6 point turn. Something like that,... I just need to see some picture of that and some more information about it. I think it have to do with the Distributor cap or something.

When you run a 6 point to 3 point rotor cap the AFR changes but only at the breakover point of the apex.

At that breakover point you'll experience ignition advance, thereby creating a new flame propogation threshold, particularly with the 2 rotor face rotors from the 1400cc Ural rotaries. (I wish I had one of those... RARE)

If you were running MCSEFI, with a J109... you'd really see a change in NOx and HC output around the breakover point, of course with the lowered intake of NOx combined with the modified 3 point, you'll also get a huge jump in your static horsepower threshold. Just be sure to move over to the ferrite core transformers for your plug wires, along with the coroplast jacketed coil & breaker points.

EDIT: I forgot to give you the shopping list for this mod... all of this stuff can be picked up at the local Autozone or autoparts store. (This is in addition to what I mentioned above)

5 silicone torque-lock nuts (10x1.25)

RTV sealant- make sure to get the GREEN stuff... they usually have it behind the counter... its made for shielding components from RF leakage (WHICH YOU WILL HAVE AFTER THIS MOD)

1.5 mm neodymium coated distributor motor brushes (DO NOT LET THEM SELL YOU THE REGULAR COPPER ONES--THEY WILL CRACK!) They're hard to find sometimes, but autozone has them under the brand name Pro-Glaze DC brush.

Thats all I can think of... its really an easy upgrade, and worth it... only downside is you may lose a bit of radio reception from the electrical noise... but for that bump in static HP threshold, I'll listen to a CD.

We should really put this info into the 1st Gen FAQ... too bad it doesn't work on the GSL-SE.

It's better to use direct fire when running a 3 rotor engine. Screw this cap and rotor stuff.
