why not build a 2.2 turbo motor, get a shelby motor and swap it in, the stock internals can take in excess of 250hp,
dont be silly
12a would suck that daytonas *****, you would regret putting all that custom work into it,

Daytona
Since it is FWD the rotary may be a bit of a challenge.
I would suggest you consider a Neon DOHC hybrid 2.5 with an A413 automatic.
500 whp should be attainable and with the fire damaged weight removed may provide a satisfying ride.

The Daytona is a bad *** car, and the 2.2 owns all.
My first Cool car was an 86 Daytona Black with black interior. Mantis here on the forum has one.

Went to the mopar drags a few years ago, a guy was running a 440 RWD daytona, Very cool.

As I will have to agree with Hades on this...they're bad ***.
I have the detuned 2.2-litre 4-cyl 8v SOHC Turbo/Int in that Maserati I picked up. Want to see ***** for something so small? I think it only has 160 horses, but damn it's quick. Mine also has the 3 speed auto in it.
Now I think what everyone else is saying with the 2.2 is maybe the 2.2-litre 4-cyl 16v DOHC Turbo/Int. - 200hp - 220 lb/ft - 5-speed Getrag. That one I hear is quite the rocket.

The starion is an extremely nice rwd mitsubishi. Daytona turbos are alright but that one looks cooked. Aparently everyone here had a daytona turbo so I'll share my expierience with my daytona. The wastegate was frozen shut so the boost would shoot up to the top of the gauge (15psi I think) and it would pull like a bitch up to 65. Then it would get shitty because of the auto tranny. The car was used as a tight woods trail car so I have no regrets owning it, it was a really fast car on the trails.

I actually got to ride in one today (that's what people with broken legs do when they wanna buy a standard )
Relatively quick, not anything jaw dropping. I still like it better than the other cars of that styling.
I was under the impression that, since this is basically a rebadged Starion, they were RWD or AWD. WTF is this thing FWD for?
That was the part that cancelled the deal. I need a RWD car for what I'm doing
