Roll Cage

Does anyone know where I can find and get an interior Roll Cage for my 1st Gen. A bolt-in or weld doesn't matter, but I don't want a cheap generic one. I hope to find or fab (for fab, is there a pattern out there somewhere) one so I can build it into the car and cut to fit the dash and such around it. The generic ones I have seen go around the outside of the dash.

This is one I found:

Please let me know if there are more out there.

What application requires you to need a roll bar or cage? If you are participating in sanctioned events, you will need to install a cage per thier rules and they vary from one sanctioning body to another.

When you decide on the type motorsport you wish to participate in, ask your question in the Race Car Tech section. More experience with cages there.

Rick,

There is a guy on this forum by the name of cagedruss(race tech section). He is based out of Portland. He will build you a cage. Custom application. If you are ever on this side of the mountains let me know and I would be happy to let you inspect my cage. I have an Autopower that looks almost identical to the one you linked.

Yes, his name is Russ Nyberg and he owns Racetech Fabrication in Portland, OR. He is a talented fabricator and very familiar with all the sanctioning bodies. Suprisingly affordable for custom fabrication.

^^ He has been in that cage thread for quite some time and I had a chance to look at all sorts of work that he has completed. I plan to get my cage modified later down the road. When I do I am going to take it to him. Good to hear another positive reccomedation.

Find out what your sanctioning body's cage requirements are, then buy the correct tubes, prep the mounting points, then take it to a welding shop and have them tig it in.
