How to paint those rims white?.. I don't know, maybe have them sandblasted or chemical-dipped, and then painted? Um, not to change the subject or anything, but are those 4 x 114.3 (GSL-SE) bolt pattern?.. if you'd be interested in selling them, I'd like to buy them.

Take them to a paint shop and have it done, they will know what to do. You could always just drive around in the snow and sooner or later they will be white. LOL Too much snow over there for me....

If you get past the photo shop phase, consider using that epoxy enamel paint that's sold for use on bathtubs - this stuff is tuff! Home Depot or Lowe's has it in a two part spray can that you heat up then put in the freezer. I did my cast iron claw foot bathtub more than a year ago and got a porcelain-like bright white finish that's held up perfectly. One thing is for sure, They Will Be WHITE!

dude. just go and buy some spray paint, clean the rims real good with soap, then laquer thinner, then what ever reduces the spray paint and paint them. let the fully cure befor putting them on and you will be fine. this engine is just rattle canned. and i've done some rims years ago. it holds up fine if you prep right. or you can sandblast them them clean them, whatever you want to spend.

Oven cleaner makes a good striper. After that a rattlecan would work fine in sevral thin coats to prevent runs. I'd finish with some good clearcoat to help stop the brake dust from staining the paint.

im going to get some acetone and soak the wheels then rub them clean let them dry
wipe em with alchohol
let em dry
then paint em with engine enamel then agive them a few coats of clearcoat
since they are Z wheels i al going to epoxy or bondo the centercaps to fill in the Z then either put little mazda emblems if i can find them, or a flying "M" emblem on each cap
not sure yet

I hear that the paint stripper used for marine applications does a good job on 1st gen RX-7 wheels. I got some at Home Depot but haven't tried it yet. If you use the 2 part epoxy paint you won't need a clear coat and the white stuff designed for tubs and appliances is WHITE WHITE, if this is what you are looking for. Post some pics when you get it done!
