Red face repu 4spd tranny on a FB?

Anybody know if this would gain anything for track/Drag or Drift? Just trying to think outside the box on options.
Thanks!

the real strength in the repu is its rear end gears, not its transmission... those 4.62 gears in the rear end make it seem real strong... if i'm not mistaken the 4 speed on the repu is roughly the same gearing as the 4 speed's that came in SA's

The reason I'm asking this is, on the track I seemed to get overtaken when shifting to 3rd while the other guy is still in 2nd making his best torque, leaving me spooling up in 3rd.
Just trying out new ideas on how to get a edge.
Thanks for the input.

the old school rib cage trannys are STRONG... lots better than a stock fb. and why got with a 4 speed, my friends repu tops out about 90 with the 4 speed, get a 5 speed.... i have 1 i need to rebuild(no tail housing or front bell housing) so the bearings are al rusted to crap. when i get that redone im dropin it into his repu.

http://members.ij.net/mrmazda/tranchrt.txt there u go... a better choice of tranny would be a RX-3SP tranny... 5 speed, rib case, its the transmission that came in my repu, but now i have a 2nd gen transmission in it...

A 626 gearset is the way to go. Semi-close ratio gears. But can't take the torque of a turbo nor n/a above 250hp.

That's what I got behind the bridgeport, no probs at all.

I was wondering about that, last year on mazspeed.com the car of the month had some 626 gears thrown into a rx-7 gearbox. What years and what gears of 626'
s will work best?

Go to the Race section of this site and search 626. I documenented it in there.
