You don't need the pulley if you have the electric fan.

I read the note on the RB dual pulley web page and am a bit confused.

Note: It is not practical to offer a standard replacement belt due to the variations of the RX-7 chassis. After measuring the distance required for your application, we suggest you contact your local auto parts store to obtain the required 3/8-inch wide replacement belt.

Does one go about measuring from center to center of each pulley or what? I got lucky on my 7 purchase. The alternator is a Mitsu rated at 75A and has a dual pulley on it. With only one belt (and a toothed belt at that) running around it, the water pump, and main, the belt
will go real soon. Already loose and will not stay tight when adjusted. Any help would be appreciated in figuring out how to route two belts on this pulley and also what kind of belts I need to purchase.

Thanks!

1) Get they Pulley
2) AND get the Electric fan.

Good Combo.
I agree with getting both. I am running the fan from a Fiero, and using the dual belt pulley too. Doesn't hurt to have a little extra grip on the water pump pulley, and the clutch fan had to go. I got tired of the car sounding like a pickup truck when it was started.

On a side note, I did not go with the underdrive pulley, and am happy with the decision at this time. My friend Joe did both pulleys and the fan, and at the last autocross, his alternator couldn't keep up. We ended up having to push start the car a couple of times. Maybe if you go to a 2g alternator, it would be nice, but I wouldn't recommend it if you have the puny stock alternator and ever expect the car to be left at idle with the fan on for any length of time. YMMV

I'm running single sheave underdrive pulley with just the alternator and water pump with the fan...no problem. If it is slipping take the pulley(s) and ruff them up with a 80grit sand paper and it will grap better then. I don't even have it that tight. Having it too tight causes problems later....mainly a ware spot line on the bearing inside the on the front stationary gear is common...but is worse if you get it too tight ofcourse.
