Replacing Ball Joints

I'm taking my control arms to a shop to get the ball joints replaced using a hydraulic press. Is there a certain setup that is best to ensure the arms don't get damaged? I was thinking of getting a section of pipe to fit over the bottom of the joint so force isn't applied to the edges of the arms...ideas? TIA.

Just let them know that its fragile they should be able to get the job done. I took mine to my local race shop and I explained the situation. Also, while they are at it have them put a couple of small welds for extra security.
