Looks good, time to break out the 2000 grit and rubbing compound to get that orange peel off there

What kind of paint did you use?

Resize the pics in MS paint or something similar before posting them to avoid them being so big

The orange peel isnt visible at all in person, I have no idea why it shows up so well to the camera, and not my eye. Lol but yes, its not totally finished

Splendid! I just bought a compressor off Craigslist as the 1st item I need to do mine. Do list products used.
I just got a quote from a paintshop for $320.00 for all paint I need to repaint code H1. Now to save up money and motivation.

its 16W mazda paint with a Dupount Chroma Clear coat btw

You cant see it in the pics, but thats Black Mica, the factory color. In the sun it has a beautiful golden-bronze shine. This was my first rx7, so im pretty happy to see it painted.

Wow, very nice. That seals the deal, I'm doing the paint on the White One II myself. Please post all the details on how you did it.

On the car, are you planning to replace all the original trim? Would make that thing pop.

On the orange peel, I like it. If I can get mine to come out half that good (in white) I'll be more than pleased.

And I agree on those wheels, perfect for the car. Got any more whole car shots?

Nice work!

if you ever see a factory paint job, they have a lot more orange peel than you'd expect. i've seen runs and drips too, although its rare.

I pulled it in the garage monday night, this week! Had it done early this morn. But when I took the pics, I hadnt put the badges/seals/new trim on yet. I got that finished tonight and took it for a nice long drive. I also got the black dragon mug guards in the mail today to put on, but I havent gotten a good look at them yet.

But yes, ill try to post up how I did everything! Best week off work ever!

16W, Black Mica. I had a mazda dealership get me the color for it. I was pretty stoked to hear they shot a few in this color in the day, and still use it today!

That was the original color, and no I sanded it down to a fine white dust in most places, I think the factory prime.
